Black Powder Solutions
B
lack Powder Solutions (BPS) has developed separation
technology that removes black powder (BP) from
hydrocarbon fluid and gas to sub-micron levels without flow
restriction using a cleanable magnetic design. BP is a hard
contaminant that results from bacterial and chemical corrosion
of the carbon steel pipe walls. Moisture is the catalyst creating
corrosion and the result is the production of iron sulfides and
oxides in different forms causing pipeline spills and component
failures.
BPS has developed a pipeline sampling station capable of
accurately detecting amounts of BP built up within natural gas
lines, detecting problem areas in the pipeline and the
composition of the contamination. BPS also provides a
coalescing sample station which detects and removes particulate
and liquid within natural gas for analysis. These systems make it
possible to calculate pipeline filtration needs.
With these tools, companies can provide a cleaner fuel,
reduce spills and emissions, and decrease maintenance costs.
Burckhardt Compression
B
urckhardt Compression is one of the worldwide market
leaders in the field of reciprocating compressors and the
only manufacturer that covers a complete range of reciprocating
compressor technologies. Its customised compressor systems
are used in the upstream oil and gas, gas transport and storage,
refinery, chemical, petrochemical and industrial gas sectors.
Burckhardt Compression’s leading technology, high-quality
compressor components and its full range of services help
customers around the world minimise the life cycle costs of their
reciprocating compressor systems.
The company’s Laby
®
Compressors have been used for
decades for boil-off gas (BOG) handling in LNG receiving
terminals and other cryogenic applications. The unique labyrinth
sealing system allows oil-free and contact-less compression of
LNG BOG at suction temperatures down to -170°C (-250°F)
without gas pre-heating at start-up. The fully balanced,
vibration-free Laby
®
-GI Compressor is designed for the fuel gas
supply for all major dual fuel propulsion systems. Furthermore,
they are used for highly demanding offshore applications on
floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) and LNG floating
production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units.
To ensure utmost reliability, performance and maximum cost
benefit, Burckhardt Compression assists its customers
throughout the entire life cycle of a reciprocating compressor,
regardless of brand.
Cameron
C
ameron is an experienced manufacturer of multistage,
integrally geared centrifugal (IGC) compressors. Established
in 1955, its factory in Buffalo, New York, has produced
over 13 000 compressors for a wide range of applications
throughout the world. This includes many compressors for LNG
applications and processes, such as LNG refrigeration loops, NGL
fractionation, boil-off gas (BOG), regeneration, impurity removal,
gas gathering, and more.
Cameron has a particularly strong reputation for success in
applications for mixed refrigerant (MR) compressors in small
scale LNG plants. These compressors perform a critical role in the
refrigeration process that liquefies natural gas to produce LNG for
transportation and storage.
The benefits offered by Cameron’s IGC technology align with
the overarching goals of LNG producers; the efficient production
of LNGwith maximum plant uptime. Centrifugal compressors are
proven to have a long mean time between failures (MTBF), and
independent research has shown an industry leading availability
of 99.7%. Cameron’s IGCs efficiently deliver 100%oil-free
compressed air/gas in a compact, skid-mounted package.
Compressor Controls Corp.
W
ith 40 years of experience in turbomachinery control
solutions, Compressor Controls Corp. (CCC) has installed
customised control solutions in over 85%of the LNG plants
worldwide, providing process controls technology that improves
turbomachinery efficiencies, reduces plant downtime due to
gas turbine and compressor equipment failure, and maximises
profitability and production.
The PRODIGY platform is the next evolution of CCC
turbomachinery control solutions. Coupled with the advanced
controls application expertise and unparalleled customer support
offered by CCC, the PRODIGY platform has been engineered to
provide new technology, optimised performance, and the ease of
use required by even the most demanding processes.
Self-learning plug-and-play module replacement enhances
the usability of the PRODIGY solution. Smart diagnostics and
HART support offer quick and easy failure identification, while
root cause analysis is supported by Sequence of Events (SoE)
emergency shutdown (ESD). Online project modification allows
for improved system availability, and system expansion is
possible through scalable modular system architecture.
Advanced control algorithms minimise process upset, while
duplex redundancy provides for better control availability.
Performance is further increased with a powerful dual core
processor and fast loop execution cycles.
New design technology allows CCC to offer customisable
monitoring systems for virtually any gas turbine and compressor
application. The small footprint makes installation possible in a
