internally designed and manufactured
turboexpanders. The company has been
engineering, manufacturing, and operating
turboexpanders for the air separation industry
for over 60 years with more than 1500 units
built to date. In recent years, this experience
was leveraged to develop high power nitrogen
turboexpanders for the AP-X
®
LNG Process, 24
of which have been operating reliably for more
than 5 years at world scale LNG production
facilities in Qatar.
Air Products recently delivered
turboexpanders to the 1.2 million tpy Petronas
FLNG Satu project, one of the world’s first
offshore floating LNG (FLNG) facilities to be
located over Malaysia’s Kanowit gas field. This
FLNG facility will utilise the AP-N
TM
LNG
Process, one of the most efficient nitrogen
recycle LNG processes in the industry. Air
Products has also been awarded a second
contract to supply a 1.5 million tpy AP-N
TM
LNG
Process including turboexpanders for the
Petronas FLNG Dua project.
