he global demand for energy is constantly rising.
Predictions forecast that the world’s energy
consumption will increase by 56% over the next three
decades;

this is driven primarily by surging requirement
from developing countries, and at present natural oil and gas
still remains the primary means of meeting this demand.
As an industry we are constantly challenged to go beyond
what we have already achieved, to discover new fields and
new means of developing those fields in order to access the
resources in a safe, controlled, reliable and economical manner;
both commercially, technically, and more than ever politically.
We are, as a global industry, challenged to meet these
technical demands in the safest and most reliable means
