VOLUME 14 | NUMBER 9 | SEPTEMBER 2014
The front page shows a wall of pipes that are closed and protected with the newest
generation Dhatec pipe-end cap solution. In the global pipeline industry, pipes are
transported and handled multiple times. End caps must withstand significant forces
during lifting with hooks and spreader bars, but also high wind loads during
transportation on train and truck. At the same time, pipe closure products must protect
the pipe from the entrance of dust, dirt, animals, rain water and snow. In order to
measure the performance of all different available solutions, Dhatec conducted a series
of tests witnessed by an independent underwriters company.
